At Texas Food For Thought, we are dedicated to making a difference in the lives of the underprivileged in Mexico and our local Houston community, planning to expand our outreach efforts in the near future.
Founded with a simple yet powerful mission, we believe that kindness knows no borders. Our journey began with the heartfelt desire to bring hope and relief to those in need.
Our dedicated team works tirelessly to bridge the gap between despair and hope, one care package at a time. Our story is a testament to the power of collective compassion and desire for change.
An Eagle Scout, entrepreneur, and avid outdoorsman; Austin Chao is a Senior at Stratford High School.
As the founder of Texas Food For Thought, he was inspired to start this organization after a compelling mission trip to impoverished villages in Mexico. He realized the disparity between those he was serving and decided he wanted to give back to his communities. Working with the same organizations that helped inspire him, he now leads Texas Food For Thought with a determination to create lasting relationships, serve those in need, and inspire future generations to continue outreach efforts through compassion and understanding.
In addition to Austin’s work here, he is also involved in Stratford High School’s varsity water polo team and varsity swim team, of which he is the team captain. Austin is also the President of the Stratford Food For Thought chapter, an officer of the Stratford Computer Science Club, and is involved in student council and other extracurricular activities.
As an avid enthusiast of any large body of water, Austin dreams of going cliff diving one day in Kaunolu Bay, Hawaii. Austin is always eager to go on an adventure and can’t wait for what the future may bring.

Having been greatly involved with Stratford High School’s Food For Thought club, he loved their work and hoped to expand their mission and values. From volunteering with local nonprofits to even experiences traveling abroad, he was drawn toward creating an impact in socioeconomically disparate communities. His work with Texas Food For Thought is a means to that end. Arthur is currently a freshman at the University of Texas at Austin studying a double major in Business and Plan II Honors, pursuing a finance declaration and a philosophy minor.
